Sapper blows himself by a mine near Zangelan

Vagif Alizad ogly Babaev, an employee of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), was hospitalized in critical condition after a mine blast in the Zangelan District.

After a mine explosion in the Karabakh conflict zone, the above Vagif Alizad ogly Babaev, born in 1972, a sapper with the ANAMA, received various wounds, the "Report.az" has informed.

Babaev was blown up by a mine in the Zangelan District; he was taken to hospital in critical condition, the APA news agency has added.

Let us remind that residents of Azerbaijan periodically blow themselves up by stepping on the mines installed in the Karabakh conflict zone. Thus, on September 21, a tractor driver ran over an anti-tank mine during performing some reconstruction works in the village of Garvand in the Agdam District and was wounded by the explosion.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that, in the opinion of analysts, the demining of territories after the hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh may take years; and the clearing of military action sites from ammunition is a long and complicated process.
