Readers of Chechen publics blame Ingushes for blowing up conflict

The work of the "Chechenavtodor" (the Chechen Highway Ministry) performed on the bank of the Fortanga River could in no way affect the border line with Ingushetia, Magomed Daudov, the Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, has stated. He was supported by users of the Chechen segment of the Instagram, who have criticized Ingushes for artificially escalating the conflict.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 11, Chechen workers changed the course of the Fortanga River, on which the border with Ingushetia passes. After visiting the Fortanga River, Magomed Evloev, the Minister of Natural Resources of Ingushetia, has treated the actions of the "Chechenavtodor" as illegal.

The earthwork has triggered protest from residents of Ingushetia. On November 12, they gathered for a rally, but officials persuaded them to disperse.

On November 13, popular Chechen publics posted a video with a comment by the Speaker Magomed Daudov on the works performed on the Fortanga River. He stated that Chechen workers were engaged in strengthening the bank on their side.

"Ingushes have again begun insulting Chechens because of the construction works at Fortanga. We have never done any construction works in anyone's territory; we know perfectly well what belongs to whom. It should be a shame, guys. We are strengthening our river bank, not yours," Speaker Daudov stated in the video translated by the "Caucasian Knot" from the Chechen language.

Daudov pointed out that the works could not influence the border line with Ingushetia in any way.

Readers of the publics have agreed with Daudov and criticized Ingushes for artificially escalating the conflict. "They've raised such panic as if we had captured Magas," the user ne_vidimay_istina wrote ironically in the comments to the post in the public eldit_net_. "There was such a panic as if Chechen workers had blocked Fortanga and penetrated deep into Ingushetia. The provocateurs have deliberately inflated it," the user ibragim0.0.6 wrote in the same public. "I didn't know that one can capture some territory by means of road maintenance equipment," the user arslan.__0 has added.
