Saakashvili's supporters announce daily protest actions

Actions demanding to protect the rights of Mikheil (Mikhail) Saakashvili, the third president of Georgia, will be held every day in different places, which will be announced the evening before, Nika Meliya, the leader of the "United National Movement" (UNM) Party, has proclaimed.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that starting from October 1, Mikhail Saakashvili has been on the hunger strike in the prison in Rustavi. The former president of Georgia demands to release him. On November 8, the Georgian authorities decided to transfer the politician to a prison hospital. Mikhail Saakashvili refused to be transferred to a prison hospital and demanded to place him in a private clinic. On the night of November 9, the former president of Georgia announced that he had been tricked into a prison hospital and then beaten.

The Georgian Ombudsperson’s Office demanded to carry out an investigation into the human rights violations against Mikhail Saakashvili, and social media users launched a hashtag with the demand to release the politician.

The Georgian opposition has announced its intention to hold today, on November 10, protest actions in four places in parallel, namely: at the Ministry of Justice; at the Ministry of Public Health, since its Minister, Ekaterina Tikaradze, has admitted that the prison hospital, where Saakashvili is now kept, has no necessary equipment for his treatment; and at the building of the State Security Service (SSS). The opposition keeps the fourth venue a secret, promising to make a "surprise". This was stated by Nika Meliya on November 9 at the UNM protest rally.

He announced daily protests until "the truth dominates."
