Three Saakashvili supporters detained during clashes with police

The police prevented the protesters from placing stickers in support of Mikhail Saakashvili near the Tbilisi residence of the creator of the "Georgian Dream" Party; three activists were detained.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in October, Saakashvili's supporters repeatedly held protests demanding his release from arrest. Another action organized by the "United National Movement" (UNM) Party took place in Tbilisi on October 14.

On October 1, Mikhail Saakashvili, a former president of Georgia, returned to his homeland, and on the same day, he was imprisoned in Rustavi, and went on a hunger strike.

On October 16, activists tried to place stickers reading "Freedom to Misha" on the walls of the tunnel leading to the residence of Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder of the ruling "Georgian Dream" Party in the Sololaki District of Tbilisi.

"Policemen met protesters near the entrance to the tunnel, in the middle of which there is a gate to Ivanishvili's house. We carried our stickers and posters demanding to release Saakashvili from prison; and then, the police suddenly blocked us and did not let us into the tunnel," Larisa Piralishvili, a participant of the action, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"Suddenly, they received some order and began detaining our activists. They detained Giorgi Rurua, the namesake of the co-owner of the 'Mtavari Arkhi' TV Company. The crowd couldn't even understand the reason; everyone shouted: what for?" Ms Piralishvili was indignant.

Clashes broke out of law enforcers with protesters; three persons were detained and taken to the SIZO (pre-trial prison).
