Georgian authorities demand to reveal customer of “bloody banners”

The State Audit Office of Georgia got involved in checking the placement of banners against the opposition and demanded from an owner of the billboards to disclose the information about the customer.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on September 20, the Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC) announced the start of a check after banners with “bloody images” of opposition leaders appeared in Tbilisi.

The State Audit Office of Georgia got involved in checking the placement of the banners depicting oppositionists against a red background imitating blood. The agency requests the company, which owns the billboards, to disclose information about the customer of the banners, their circulation, as well as the cost and duration of placement, the “Formula” TV Channel reports on its website today.

“In September 2021, political posters with the inscription reading: ‘No Nazis, no Evil, no Traitors’ appeared nationwide in places intended for outdoor advertising. The material posted on those banners calls for refraining from supporting a number of political forces. The State Audit Office of Georgia has started administrative proceedings to check the legality of the costs incurred for the placement of the aforementioned banners,” the “InterPressNews” quotes today the State Audit Office of Georgia as announcing.

Let us remind you that according to the Georgian opposition, the “Georgian Dream” Party may be involved in the placement of the unsanctioned advertising.
