On anniversary of Beslan terror act, Dudieva demands to speed up its investigation

Today, at a press conference in North Ossetia, the head of the “Mothers of Beslan” Committee has stated that the investigation into a case on the seizure of a school by terrorists on September 1, 2004, in Beslan should be intensified and take into account the materials of the Strasbourg Court.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that today, the three-day mourning events in North Ossetia have started with a memorial service and the laying of flowers at the Beslan school, which was seized by terrorists 17 years ago.

On September 1, 2004, terrorists took 1128 hostages in a gym of the Beslan school No. 1. The special operation to release the hostages was finished on September 3, 2004. As a result of the terror act, 334 people were killed, including 186 children, and other 810 people were injured.

Today, the “Mothers of Beslan” Committee has organized a press conference at the Beslan Palace of Culture dedicated to the anniversary of the terror act.

During the press conference, Susanna Dudieva, the head of the “Mothers of Beslan” Committee, has reported that the investigation into the case on the Beslan terror act had been extended until December 31, 2021.

Susanna Dudieva has criticized investigators and their unwillingness to attach the materials of the Strasbourg Court to the case. “The investigation is being conducted in a biased and sluggish manner, and we do not want people to just sit there and be called investigators in the Beslan case. We want the investigation to proceed actively, and so that at least one issue put before the investigation is resolved a year,” the activist stated.
