Relatives report stabilization of health condition of Azerbaijani rights defender, Ogtai Gyulyalyev
The state of health of Ogtai Gyulyalyev is assessed as stably grave, but doctors note some positive dynamics. He remains unconscious, but already reacts to appeals, his relatives have informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 29, 2019, Ogtai Gyulyalyev, then, the head of the public alliance "Azerbaijan Without Political Prisoners", who had held a press conference on the campaign against torture, was hit down by a car. On November 8, 2020, after treatment in Istanbul, he was transported home. His condition deteriorated sharply on August 5 this year.
The state of health of Ogtai Gyulyalyev continues to be in positive dynamics, said his wife, Firuza Gyulyalyeva, adding that her husband is still unconscious and motionless. "For now, doctors assess his condition as stably grave, but express cautious optimism," Ms Gyulyalyeva has concluded.
Mekhman Aliev, the director of the "Turan" News Agency and Gyulyalyev's comrade, has also reported, referring to doctors, the improvement in Ogtai's health condition.
