Health condition of Azerbaijani rights defender Gyulyalyev shows improvement

Doctors of the EGE-Hospital clinic have found out that the reason for the deterioration in the health condition of Ogtai Gyulyalyev, an Azerbaijani human rights defender, was in an infection in the abdominal cavity. His health condition has somewhat improved after the treatment prescribed in the clinic, his wife said.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 29, 2019, Ogtai Gyulyalyev, the head of the public alliance "Azerbaijan Without Political Prisoners" was hit down by a car. On November 8, 2020, after treatment in Istanbul, he was transported home. This January, his family said the Azeri General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) was investigating his treatment. His relatives called the medical care rendered to Ogtai in Baku unsatisfactory. On 5 August, his health condition deteriorated sharply. Then, according to Tabriz Gyulyalyev, Ogtai's son, his father was placed in the EGE-Hospital.

Mekhman Aliev, the director of the "Turan" News Agency, who is Ogtai Gyulyalyev's friend, has confirmed the positive dynamics in his health condition.
