Social media users dispute about the idea of Chechen patrols near Moscow

The authorities of the town of Troitsk near Moscow have hired a private security company made up exclusively of Chechen natives to help local policemen. This idea will have a positive impact on the problem of hooliganism, some social media users have suggested. Their opponents have objected that the police should guard the public order.

The publication about the appearance of patrols in Troitsk, which consist of natives of Chechnya, was posted on July 24 in the group "Yasenevo. Neighbours" in the Facebook social network. "The administration of the town of Troitsk has hired a private security company named 'Corvette' and consisting exclusively of [natives of Chechnya] to protect the public order. Their task is to stop the drinking of alcoholic beverages, to keep the order, trying to 'explain everything to the brawlers in an amicable manner'," says the publication.

Most of the commentators have criticized the police. "And what should our police do? And what have various private security companies, some groups of different nationals to do here? How much more should we attract the population and allocate money so that the police could cope with their direct mission? The police are a state power body that defends the public order," Larisa Issaenkova has noted.

"I don't want to see a Chechen, Cossack, or any kind of patrol. I want the police to perform their duties, and not delegate them, undersigning to be completely incapacitated," Olga Mikhailova has written.

Another part of users spoke out against the idea of patrolling by natives of Chechnya. Other users, on the contrary, expressed their approval. "Well, by the way, this will solve the problem of combating domestic hooliganism," said Evgeny Milanovskiy.
