Magomadov refuses protection after a failed attempt on him

Blogger Said-Khusein Magomadov explains his rejection of the protection offered by the Austrian police by inconveniences at work, but he does not feel safe. Said-Khusein Magomadov called the failed assassination on him a political order of the Chechen authorities.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in June, according to the Austrian police, there was an attempt to blow up blogger Said-Khusein Magomadov in Bregenz, where he lives. Two natives of Chechnya are detained in connection with the attempted murder case.

Said-Khusein Magomadov told the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent that he had refused the protection offered by the police. “I highly appreciate the actions of the Austrian police. The police offered to guard me, but I got to work, and it is inconvenient for me to be constantly accompanied by the bodyguards. So, I refused,” the blogger said.

He believes that the customers of his murder live in Chechnya. “I am sure that the motivation of the performers is money, and the order came from above, from the Chechen leaders,” Said-Khusein Magomadov said. He associated the assassination attempt on him with his post in a video blog in which he disclosed the names of three persons involved in the murder in 2020 of Mamikhan Umarov, another critic of Kadyrov.

Said-Khusein Magomadov notes that he fears for his life.
