South Ossetia: Georgia has disrupted the MCC meeting in Istanbul

The South Ossetia has accused Georgia of another disruption of the meeting of co-chairmen of the Mixed Control Commission (MCC) for Georgian-Ossetian settlement, which should have taken place in Istanbul from February 28 to March 2. The statement on behalf of South Ossetia was made to the "Rustavi-2" TV Comany by Boris Chochiev, one of MCC co-chairmen.

"The Georgian party has disrupted the MCC meetings in Yerevan and Istanbul; it is Georgia who breaks the format, not South Ossetia or anybody else. The meeting was to take place long ago, but the Georgian party is breaking the meetings since June last year," Mr. Chochiev has told "Rustavi-2" by phone from Tskhinvali.

Yesterday, the office of the Georgian State Minister for Matters of Conflict-Settling disseminated a message on cancellation of the meeting, since Yuri Popov, co-chairman from Russia, had notified the Georgian party in writing on the inexpediency of the meeting "for lack of consent among the parties."
