Two persons injured in a mine explosion in Azerbaijan

Today, Nuru Nuriev and Elnur Gashimov, residents of the Fizuli District of Azerbaijan, who violated the ban on visiting Karabakh, have been blown up by a mine. The men have got severe injuries.

In the period from November 10, 2020, after the cessation of the combat actions in Karabakh to the present day, 28 Azerbaijani citizens were killed in mine explosions, including seven military men, while 86 military men and 31 civilians were injured, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent has been informed by the General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan today.

Nuru Nuriev and Elnur Gashimov were walking along an area not cleared of mines in the direction to the village of Ashagi Abdurakhmanly and were blown up by an antipersonnel mine. As a result, the both men have got severe injuries, the press service for the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Azerbaijan reports today.

In February, Nuru Nuriev was detained by the police while trying to illegally enter the liberated territories and was arrested for 30 days, the “Report” news agency informs with reference to the Azerbaijani MIA.
