Authors of hiking project note recreational potentials of Northern Caucasus
A group of enthusiasts has announced fundraising for the creation of the first hiking trail in the regions Northern Caucasus from the Caspian to the Black Sea. The tourist trail will help the economic development of the Caucasus, the authors of the project believe.
To implement the project, the group needs 300,000 roubles. They have launched a fundraising campaign on the planeta.ru platform.
Vladimir Sevrinovsky, one of the founders of the project, a writer, a photographer and an expert on the Caucasus, views the region as very promising for hiking.
"The main goal is to make a hiking trail from the Caspian Sea to the Black Sea that meets international standards and passes across all the republics of Northern Caucasus and Krasnodar Territory. This region is extremely promising for hiking. The eastern part of the trail will amaze with ethno-cultural riches, while the western part will pass largely through wild places, where travellers will enjoy the almost untouched nature," Mr Sevrinovsky told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on April 29.
Vladimir Sevrinovsky is sure that the hiking trail will help local communities to liven up their daily life and earn money, as well as stimulate the development of small businesses.
