Four “Voice of Beslan” activists continue hunger strike in support of Navalny for third day

For the third day, Ella Kesaeva, the co-chair of the “Voice of Beslan” public committee, and three other activists of the movement are continuing their hunger strike in support of Alexei Navalny. They demand to let a doctor visit the oppositionist in a penal colony. The hunger strike is taking place amid the detentions of Alexei Navalny’s supporters in various cities of Russia.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that Ella Kesaeva compared Alexei Navalny to the victims of the terror act in Beslan. “The man has been taken hostage, and they are finishing him off. Our children were also taken hostage in 2004. They were not rescued then,” Ella Kesaeva said.

The protesters refuse food, but they drink water.

On March 31, Alexei Navalny declared a hunger strike in the penal colony where he is serving his sentence. He demands to let an invited doctor visit him and let the medicines be handed over to him. On April 20, the oppositionist wrote that he was severely exhausted.

On April 3, in Volgograd, picketers called the conditions in which Alexei Navalny is being held as torture. Today, all over Russia, the police detain and arrest the politician’s supporters, who demand to provide medical assistance for him.
