Georgian activists announce fundraising to free oppositionist
A group of activists has announced a collection of funds to release the opposition leader, Giorgi Mumladze, on bail; he was arrested after a protest held at the office of the "Georgian Dream" Party in Tbilisi.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 2, the opposition held a protest action near the above office in Tbilisi, trying to paint graffiti on its walls. As a result, there were clashes with the police, after which 15 activists were detained.
Georgian activists have announced fundraising for the required bail of 3000 laris (about USD 880, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"), needed to release Giorgi Mumladze, an oppositionist and a member of the "Movement for Georgia".
Mumladze was detained during the protest action in Tbilisi, when activists tried to paint some graffiti on the walls of the office building of the "Georgian Dream" Party. Law enforcers tried to prevent this, as a result of which a clash broke out of protesters with policemen, during which Mumladze bit one of the policemen in the ear, the "Sputnik Georgia" has written.
