Analysts dispute about reasons for dismissal of Chechnya's Police boss Alaudinov

The dismissal of Apti Alaudinov from the post of the head of the Chechen Police confirms the information about his disgrace, while the new post of Kadyrov's assistant will allow keeping under control, Ruslan Kutaev, President of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations, Oyub Titiev, a Chechen human rights defender, and Dmitry Oreshkin, a political analyst. Alaudinov's dismissal was a concession to Moscow after the scandal over the "Novaya Gazeta"investigation, Alexei Malashenko, political analyst, has suggested.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Alaudinov personally persecuted dissidents on trumped-up cases and intimidated critics of the authorities; therefore, he enjoys the reputation of a cruel person. After his dismissal, he became an assistant to Ramzan Kadyrov.

The human rights defender, Oyub Titiev, believes that Alaudinov's new position gives him no chance to exert influence in the republic. He has suggested that the reason for Alaudinov's disgrace could be the story with the "conspiracy."

Claims against Alaudinov from the Chechen leadership could be connected with "insufficient loyalty" to the authorities and omissions in work, but not with violations of citizens' rights, Dmitry Oreshkin, a political analyst, believes.

If Alaudinov had been removed due to the fact that he was guilty of something before Kadyrov and his entourage, he would not have been appointed to the post of an assistant, Igor Kalyapin, the head of the Committee against Torture (CaT), believes.

Alexei Malashenko, the head of scientific studies at the "Civilizations' Dialogue" Institute, believes that after the scandal with the "Novaya Gazeta", Kadyrov was given to understand that he should not go beyond his powers.
