Azerbaijan hands over remains of 15 Armenian servicemen

On March 19, Azerbaijan handed remains of 15 persons found in places of last autumn's hostilities over to Karabakh rescuers. The total number of bodies and remains found in the Karabakh conflict zone has reached 1518, the State Emergency Service (SES) of Nagorno-Karabakh has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that immediately after the end of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, in the fall of 2020, the Karabakh SES began searching for the dead bodies and remains; and by March 16, the number thereof had reached 1502.

The remains of the above 15 Armenian servicemen were found in the vicinity of Fizuli (the Armenian name is Varanda). The Azerbaijani party handed them over to the Karabakh one near the village of Krasny Bazar (the Armenian name is Karmir Shuka). The bodies will be identified after an examination, the SES of Nagorno-Karabakh has reported.

On March 18, Karabakh rescuers found the remains of one casualty in Djebrail (the Armenian name is Djrakan). According to preliminary data, the casualty was a participant in the hostilities; his remains were found at the combat venue, the "Sputnik Armenia" reported on March 18.

In total, the number of the bodies found by Karabakh rescuers in territories that came under Azerbaijan's control and those handed over by the Azerbaijani party makes 1518, the SES of Nagorno-Karabakh has reported on the Facebook.
