Rally for Pashinyan's resignation gathers 25 hundred

A rally and a march of opponents of the Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, passed without detention; the police counted 2500 participants. The MPs had to enter the blocked parliament building through the auxiliary entrance; the opposition threatened to block it too.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 25, Pashinyan's opponents set up a tent camp near the parliament. On March 9, in Yerevan, protesters surrounded the territory of the parliament, blocking the entrances and exits thereto. Clashes broke out of activists with policemen.

The Armenian opposition is holding rallies demanding Pashinyan's resignation after the conclusion of a peace agreement on Nagorno-Karabakh on November 9, 2020. Protests intensified after Pashinyan drew up a decree on the dismissal of the Chief of the General Staff.

Arpine Ovannisyan, a former MP from the Republican Party, has called President, Armen Sargsyan, who refused to challenge the decree on the resignation of the Chief of General Staff at the Constitutional Court, a traitor. According to her version, the President serves Pashinyan's interests.
