"Reporters without Borders" render financial aid to Azerbaijani journalists

Journalist Nidzhat Daglar (Guseinov) has reported about his departure from the "Azadlyg" newspaper. He explained his decision by indifference of the managers of the newspaper to his fate after the serious injuries obtained as a result of an attack on him committed by four unknown persons late in last December.

Mr. N. Daglar has noted to the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot" that only foreigners have some interest to his fate, unlike local journalists' organizations. Thus, as he said, the "Reporters without Borders" international organization for defence of the press has rendered financial aid to Nidzhat Daglar.

Earlier, similar aid was provided by the "Reporters without Borders" to the family of Elmar Guseinov, editor of the "Monitor" magazine, assassinated in March 2005, and Bakhaddin Khaziev, editor of the "Bizim Yol" newspaper, kidnapped and beaten by a group of unknown persons last summer.
