OSCE has supported the initiative of South Ossetia to promptly hold a MCC's sitting

On February 8, a meeting was held of Boris Chochiev, first deputy chair of the government of South Ossetia and co-chair of the Mixed Control Commission (MCC) for Settling the Georgian-Ossetian Conflict from the South Ossetian party, with Mr. Roy Reav, head of the OSCE mission in Georgia.

Mr. R. Reav and Mr. B. Chochiev have expressed their concern that the sittings of the Mixed Control Commission have not been held for long, and no decisions have been adopted. Issues of holding a meeting within the existing format have been discussed.

"It is known," Mr. Chochiev told the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot," "that on January 28 the South-Ossetian party offered to hold an immediate plenary sitting of the MCC. Despite the offer was rejected by the Georgian party, it was supported by all the other parties and the OSCE. As to the Georgian party, it goes on insisting on an informal meeting."
