Kadyrov criticizes Djumaev for supporting Navalny

Said-Mukhammad Djumaev harmed the people of Chechnya and acted not as a man while hiding from the police after a protest action in support of Alexei Navalny, Ramzan Kadyrov says.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after the protest action in support of oppositionist Alexei Navalny, held in Moscow on January 23, Said-Mukhammad Djumaev, a native of Chechnya, was detained in the Pskov Region and arrested until March 23. The man was charged with the use of violence against public officers.

The Chechen authorities immediately reacted to the detention of Said-Mukhammad Djumaev. On January 24, Adam Delimkhanov, the adviser to Ramzan Kadyrov, suggested that the native of Chechnya should surrender and renounce the opposition. In return, the advisor to the leader of Chechnya promised Said-Mukhammad Djumaev that Ramzan Kadyrov would help him solve problems with the law.

Ramzan Kadyrov says that by his actions, Said-Mukhammad Djumaev harmed the Chechen people and failed to behave like a man. "If he were a real Chechen, he would not have behaved that way," the leader of the republic concluded. Ramzan Kadyrov believes that if Said-Mukhammad Djumaev defended his beliefs at the rally, he should not have hidden from the police.
