In Tskhinvali, protest action continues despite Epiphany frosts

Last night was the coldest during 1.5 months of the round-the-clock protest action being held in the central square of Tskhinvali. Relatives of Inal Djabiev claim they will continue their protest, despite the forecast of a further cold snap.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Inal Djabiev's relatives and activists who support them have been holding a round-the-clock protest action on the main square of Tskhinvali since December 4, 2020.

In recent days, the square is almost empty for most of the day, but in the evenings, 30-40 protesters gather there. It became more difficult for the activists to stay there at night due to the onset of cold weather. "Last night, it was hard to stand here. It was the coldest night of all during which we are here," Alan, a participant of the protest action, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Maya Djabieva, a mother of Inal Djabiev, said that the frost would not force her to stop the protest. "I will stand here to the last, even if I have to freeze and die here. Igor Naniev, the dismissed chief of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), and all those KGB agents and Border Guard Service officers who knew about the whereabouts of my son and about the torture used against him are to be punished for my son's death," the protester told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
