Alims decide to evict suspect's relatives from Tarki

The Imam of the mosque located in the dwelling settlement of Tarki (a part of Makhachkala) has announced the decision of local Alims (Muslim experts) to evict the family of the suspect in the commission of a murder from the settlement. The reanimation of community traditions has sparked both delight and criticism from Internet users.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 3, a 23-year-old activist, Vali Abduragimov, who had tried "to unite the settlement's jamaat against drug dealers" and claimed a former law enforcer's involvement in illegal circulation of forbidden substances, was killed on the slope of Tarki-Tau Mountain in Makhachkala. A 28-year-old resident of Makhachkala was arrested on suspicion of the murder.

On January 7, in the Tarki mosque, the Mayor of Makhachkala, officials and law enforcers held a meeting with local residents. The Mayor entrusted the problem decision to local Alims and called to fulfil what they decide.

The Alims' decision was announced in the central mosque of Tarki. The Imam has stressed that this is a precedent decision; and there will be no further discussion of such incidents – perpetrators will be evicted, the Instagram-public "Youth of Tarki-Tau" has reported.

Most commentators in the public have supported the punishment of the suspect's relatives. "It's a lesson for everyone, despite their surname, age, tukhum (origin and family ties, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"), positions, authority or occupation. A Jamaat always means strength, power, a single whole, a brotherhood that won't be broken by officials, bosses, MPs, athletes, or false men," the user 2015zairatarki has stated.

Of the authors of 20 comments that appeared under the post within five hours, only one spoke out against the decision made by Alims. "What does the family have to do with it?! And you, commentators, are all vile hypocrites!" the user slsosnseslsys has written.
