Eight persons detained at a protest in Yerevan

Law enforcers detained opponents of Nikol Pashinyan who came to a protest action in front of the Armenian parliament building, including the leaders of the "Dashnaktsutyun" Party. A quarrel between the protesters with MP Sisak Gabrielyan ended in a fight.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that starting from December 22, Yerevan hosts protest actions with the demand of the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's resignation. On December 24, 94 participants of the protest action were detained. On December 25, clashes broke out between the police and the protesters.

The Armenian opposition raised the issue of Nikol Pashinyan's resignation after the armistice agreement with Azerbaijan had been signed on November 10. Political analysts suggest that the opposition will not succeed in using the street protests to make the Prime Minister resign.

Today, the opponents of Nikol Pashinyan have gathered in front of the National Assembly building. The protestors were chanting: "Shame!" to MPs entering the building and demanding from them to remove the Prime Minister from office, the "Sputnik Armenia" reports.

Later, the protesters began marching and chanting: "Nikol is a traitor." During the protest action, a fight broke out between the protests and Sisak Gabrielyan, an MP from the "My Step" parliamentary faction, the "News.am" reports.
