Social network users demand to punish those responsible for death of Gasanguseinov brothers

The promises of the Acting Head of Dagestan to support Murtazali and Patimat Gasanguseinov are not enough. The authorities of Dagestan should start an investigation so that those responsible for the death of their sons are found and prosecuted, Instagram users insist.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 25, the acting head of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov, met Murtazali and Patimat Gasanguseinov and offered them material support.

Murtazali Gasanguseinov, the father of the killed shepherds, held numerous protest actions and achieved the institution of a criminal case on the killing of his sons – 17-year-old Nabi and 19-year-old and Gasangusein – during a special operation conducted in August 2016. The law enforcement bodies declared the killed shepherds as militants, but the brothers' parents and their fellow villagers insisted that the young men were shepherds and were simply grazing sheep in the mountains.

The news about Sergey Melikov's meeting with Gasanguseinov parents was posted on December 25 in pages of a number of Instagram publics. In their comments, many social network users demanded to punish those responsible for the death of Gasanguseinov brothers.

"And how will it help? Will the guilty be punished or not?" the user treid0525 has asked. "One thing is interesting: but where is the punishment; where is justice; why those who are to blame for this have escaped punishment?" the user radjab1319 was indignant.

Another part of users have reproached the former heads of the region. "Couldn't the previous ones have done the same thing?" the user murtuz_52 has asked. "For so many years, not a single regional leader has dared to just accept and listen to the parents," the user imam.62mail.ru wrote in bewilderment.
