Armenian President calls for early parliamentary elections

Against the background of the political crisis after the truce agreement with Azerbaijan, the government of Armenia should prepare for early parliamentary elections, and power should be transferred to the government of "national accord," Armenian President Armen Sargsyan announces.

After Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed the truce agreement with Azerbaijan, the opposition raised the issue of his resignation, but the consideration of the initiative in the parliament failed due to the lack of a quorum. Political analysts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" note that the opposition does not have enough votes to announce the impeachment of Nikol Pashinyan.

According to Armen Sargsyan, Armenia lost in the war imposed on it, both on the battlefield and in the diplomatic arena, and as a result, the country's economy is "overloaded with colossal social problems."

"As a result of a huge inflow of people from Artsakh, we face a humanitarian catastrophe... We cannot ignore reality and live an ordinary life like earlier," stated the President of Armenia as quoted by the "Sputnik-Armenia".
