Military unit assaulted in North Ossetia

In North Ossetia, near Vladikavkaz, during an attack of unknown persons on a military unit's check point, an officer was wounded, one of the attackers detained, a spokesman of the military unit has informed.

The "Interfax" reports on the accident as follows: at about 4:00 p.m., some 15 km off Vladikavkaz, in the vicinity of settlement Alkhan-Churt, unknown persons drove up in a "Volga" passenger car to the check point of the military unit.

Attempting to get illegally into the territory of the unit, one of the unknown persons took out a pistol and wounded an officer. Then, the attackers escaped from the scene of the crime. Militiamen have been now engaged in search of criminals. One of the attackers was detained; later it became clear that he was the driver of the car. The person of the shooter has also been identified. Militia members of North Ossetia are now trying to detain him.
