Analysts rule out Ramzan Kadyrov's interference in Karabakh conflict

The authorities of Chechnya will not help Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh without the approval of the Kremlin, expert Vasily Dandykin believes. Political analyst Ali Magomaev suggests that at most, natives of Chechnya may be included in the peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 2, a video was posted on Instagram, which allegedly proved the participation of Chechen natives in the combat actions in Karabakh. Some Instagram users consider the video to be authentic, while others suggest it is fake, and the video was shot during the production of a film in Crimea.

Unlike the times of Shamil Basaev, it is now unlikely that natives of Chechnya will take part in the hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, military expert Vasily Dandykin suggests. He notes that Chechnya is a subject of the Russian Federation, which has obligations to Armenia under the Collective Security Treaty.

Ramzan Kadyrov will not interfere in the Karabakh conflict on his own initiative, political analyst Ali Magomaev believes. The expert mentioned that in the early 1990s, mercenaries from among natives of Chechnya fought in Nagorno-Karabakh, both on the sides of Azerbaijan and Armenia.

At present, it is possible that some ethnic Chechens are fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh, but they are not volunteers from Chechnya, believes Ruslan Kutaev, the president of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations.
