Kadyrov defiantly ignores criticism in connection with his refusal to wear mask

At the solemn opening of a new dwelling settlement in Grozny, the head of Chechnya and his entourage were without medical masks; the fact was noticed by local residents. Even those who have recovered and even those vaccinated against coronavirus, should wear masks, Zarema Alborti, a doctor, believes.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of Chechnya criticize local officials for double standards in the issue of coronavirus prophylactic measures. Thus, on September 6, a video from his nephew's wedding posted by Kadyrov, where guests were without masks, caused dissatisfaction, because wearing them is a must for residents of Chechnya.

It is noteworthy that before the report of the "Grozny" TV Channel about the opening of a new settlement in the Staropromyslovsky District of Grozny, a story was shown with the participation of Elkhan Suleimanov, the Minister of Public Health, who spoke about the coronavirus spread in the republic.

"The Minister of Public Health demands from the population to observe the mask regime; and the head of the republic ignores this demand ... It's not surprising that many still do not believe that coronavirus is dangerous," said Markha, a local activist.

"Kadyrov and his bureaucrats don't care at all about observing their own rules. In my opinion, this is discrimination," said Umar, a resident of Grozny.

Kadyrov, as the head of the region, should set an example for residents of Chechnya and observe the mask regime, human rights defenders, Oleg Orlov and Svetlana Gannushkina, have pointed out.
