At rally, Tbilisi residents express solidarity with Belarusian opposition
On August 21, in Tbilisi, about 50 people held an action "Women's solidarity chain against violence". The participants came out with posters "No to violence" and "Georgia, don't recognize the dictator! Support the people of Belarus!"
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 13, activists in Tbilisi and Batumi held actions, at which they called on the Georgian authorities not to recognize the results of the presidential election in Belarus.
The rally in support of the Belarusians was held in Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi in the evening on August 21 and lasted for two hours. About 50 people took part in it.
Irina Svanidze, a participant, is from Belarus, but has been living in Tbilisi for 30 years. She has noted that she went to the rally to support the people who stand for fair elections. In her opinion, the election outcomes were not fair, and the true expression of people's will turned into mass protests.
