NAC reports two militants killed in Ingushetia

In a counterterrorist operation (CTO) conducted in Nazran and the village of Sagopshi, two militants were killed; one more person was detained, the Russian National Antiterrorism Committee (NAC) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since the evening on August 6, a CTO was conducted in the city of Nazran and in the village of Sagopshi, Malgobek District of Ingushetia. A law enforcement source said that one alleged militant was killed; and there were no victims among law enforcers.

According to the NAC, law enforcers had received information that militants were hiding in private houses in Nazran and Sagopshi village. The territory adjacent to these houses was cordoned off; and the people inside were asked to lay down their arms and surrender. "In response, militants opened fire on law enforcers and during a short shootout, two bandits were neutralized, and one was detained," the RIA "Novosti" has quoted a NAC's message.

Weapons, ammunition and an explosive device were found at the venue of the shootout. There are no victims among law enforcers, the NAC has stated.
