Yuri Shvets: Litvinenko was killed because of Russia's secret folder

Alexander Litvinenko was murdered because he possessed information on a certain powerful Kremlin figure, his former partner told the BBC in an interview. Yuri Shvets, a former officer of Russian special agencies, has stated that Litvinenko was hired by some major British company for drawing a folder on Russia.

In his interview to Radio-4 of the BBC, Yuri Shvets put forward a version that Litvinenko was poisoned after the said folder had got into the hands to the above high-ranked official.

"Certainly, other suspicions may arise, but there is such notion like "the most probable version," and this is just the case," he added. Mr. Shvets, who lives in Washington, is consulting companies on the matters of legislation and safety in the countries of former USSR.

In his words, Litvinenko was sure that he was poisoned during his meeting with three Russians in the London Millennium hotel on November 1.

Meanwhile, Walter Litvinenko, Alexander's father, has stated that his son's assassination was "an intended intimidation action" and directly accused "former KGB spy president Putin" of the murder, the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.
