Azerbaijani ANS TV Channel lost half a million because of suspension

On December 13, Vakhid Mustafaev, president of the ANS TV Company, stated while talking to journalists that the Company people believed in a fair decision to be taken on the future of the ANS. He said that the National Board for Television and Radio of Azerbaijan had moved three conditions to the Company, which were met. They were to suspend re-broadcasting of the BBC and Voice of America, suspend its studio in Sheki and bid for the frequency distribution tender.

The ANS president has refuted the rumours that the Company would change the course. He also asserted that the list of founders of the Company remains the same.

Mr. Mustafaev has also reported that because of 17 days of suspension the ANS has lost about $500,000.
