International organizations welcome renewal of ANS TV Channel in Azerbaijan

The OSCE Baku office and the representative of this organization for the freedom of press have positively accepted the decision to resume broadcasting of the ANS TV Channel in Azerbaijan.

"We hope that next February, while considering applications of frequency utilization, the National Board on Television and Radio (NBTR) will do it in an open and democratic way and take into account the choice of Azerbaijani society. The ANS TV Channel opened in 1991 is considered to be the most popular and experienced in Azerbaijan," Miklosh Kharashti, OSCE representative for the freedom of press, has stated.

In his turn, Terry Davis, General Secretary of the Council of Europe, also welcomed the NBTR's decision to resume broadcasting of the ANS TV Channel and ANS CM Radio Station.
