In Armenia, villager of Chinari wounded in shelling attack

A resident of the border village of Chinari was seriously injured during a shelling attack by an Azerbaijani unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the situation on the border in the Tovuz District of Azerbaijan and the Tavush Region of Armenia escalated on July 12. On July 15, the Armenian MoD announced the de-escalation, and the authorities of the border villages of Azerbaijan reported about the stabilization of the situation. However, today, the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan has reported about the resumption of hostilities, while the Armenian MoD also claimed a shelling attack of the border areas.

Aramais Ovakimyan, a wounded resident of the village of Chinari, is 48 years old. He got burns and shrapnel wounds, reports Alina Nikogosyan, the press secretary of the Armenian Ministry for Public Health. The condition of the wounded civilian is assessed as severe but stable.

The villager was wounded after a shelling attack from an UAV, the Armenian MoD reported. According to Shushan Stepanyan, the press secretary for the Armenian MoD, while violating the ceasefire agreement, Azerbaijan used attacking UAVs again, including in the direction of villages and towns.

Furthermore, today, the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan has reported about the downed Armenian UAV, which was conducting reconnaissance over the positions of the Azerbaijani troops. Shushan Stepanyan refuted the information as fake.
