Threats received by Umarov confirmed by voice record

Shortly before his assassination, Mamikhan Umarov, a native of Chechnya, claimed that he received threats and blamed Austrian authorities for inaction, which is confirmed by the published his voice record.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that two natives of Chechnya who have been living in Europe with refugee status for more than 15 years are arrested in Austria on suspicion of involvement in the murder of blogger Mamikhan Umarov.

Mamikhan Umarov, a native of Chechnya, also known as "Anzor from Vienna", was killed in Vienna on July 4. In his videos, the blogger openly criticized and repeatedly insulted Ramzan Kadyrov and his parents by using the uncontrolled vocabulary.

On July 8, a video clip was posted on the "Kavkaz Media" YouTube channel; it was composed of Mamikhan Umarov's photo and an audio record. The author of the record does not present himself, but his voice and manner of speech sound similar to those by Umarov. The explanation to the audio clip states that the blogger Umarov made this record before his murder.

"At the moment, there is pressure on my mother and on my sister; they want to seize the house, and take and get their money. And this will not end there [...] I'd like, first of all, to blame Austrian authorities for their inaction, because they gave me refuge, they told me to live here, and then they wiped their feet on me [...] if something happens to me, I blame them first of all," says the audio record.

The author also says that he had problems appearing after the arrival of representatives of Ukraine.

"Secondly (I blame) the Ukrainian (representatives) who came [...] after that I had problems and very serious problems," the author has stated.
