Public repentances of mother of woman who died in Chechnya failed to convince Instagram users

The mother of the deceased young woman from Gudermes has publicly announced her reconciliation with her son-in-law's family, has apologized again to his parents and called to stop allegations about her violent death. Instagram users have doubted the sincerity of these statements.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 12, a 23-year-old mother of three children died in the house of her husband and his parents. She was hastily buried at night, contrary to Islamic traditions. After reports in social networks that the girl became a victim of domestic violence, her mother achieved exhumation of the body. Without waiting for the results of the examination, the head of Chechnya met the casualty's mother and husband, after which the mother apologized for the words about the violent death of her daughter. Instagram users found the apology a forced one.

The mother has vowed that she had reconciled with her son-in-law's family and called to stop "spreading gossips." According to her version, suspicions about the violent death of her daughter arose under the influence of third-persons' reports.

According to relatives, the Gudermes woman had tried to leave her husband due to beatings. Meanwhile, Ramzan Kadyrov urged women to endure beatings from their husbands. Such a tolerant attitude to domestic violence is unacceptable and contrary to the public morality of Northern Caucasus, human rights defenders assert.
