Chechnya: doctors treat restrictions on children's walks reasonable

Walks and outdoor games of children during the epidemic are more dangerous than staying at home, doctors in Chechnya believe.

Social networks are posting videos with children hiding from policemen in Chechnya. Many Instagram users speak in favour of the self-isolation regime. The local residents interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" believe that the quarantine is too long.

Some commentators are sympathetic with the children, who have to hide because of the restrictions.

Children are at risk of becoming infected with coronavirus; therefore, it's better to limit their communication in city streets, Irena Nersesova, a Moscow doctor, believes. According to her version, it's better to organize children's leisure outside the city during the epidemic. Besides, children can more easily tolerate coronavirus, but infect elderly people who cannot cope with the disease.

She has added that a complete ban on walking outdoors can't be more dangerous for children's health than walking outside at risk of infection.

Andrei Makarov, a biologist, is also confident that if there is a task to prevent the virus spread, then playing outdoors is risky for children and their families.
