Instagram users respond to call to help Dagestani doctors

Within three days, the Instagram users, who have supported the initiators of the campaign under the hashtag #yamyvrachi (I and we are doctors), raised over one million roubles. The money will be used to buy medical masks and other personal protective means for Dagestani doctors.

The message that the above campaign was launched in Dagestani social networks was received by the SMS service of the "Caucasian Knot" on April 27. The author informed about the start of the fundraising campaign.

Guzel Djarulaeva, a Dagestani entrepreneur, was one of the initiators of the campaign under the hashtag #yamyvrachi; her Instagram page has 313,000 subscribers.

"I'm calling on everyone who is able to support those who are at the forefront today, every second fighting for our lives! Those who, having left their families and small children, have been living in hospitals for weeks! Those for whom the authorities did not have enough funds to provide personal protective means! Those who sew gauze masks for themselves from gauze during breaks in patients' arrival! [...] All the raised funds will be used to purchase personal protective means for Dagestani medics!" Ms Guzel Djarulaeva wrote on April 26.

Already on April 28, she announced that over a million roubles had been raised.
