KBR entrepreneurs complain of losses due to restrictive measures

Because of the restrictions imposed by the authorities of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) in connection with the epidemic, minor businesses have to suffer losses and reduce their hired personnel, the entrepreneurs interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" assert.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 26, the KBR authorities extended the restrictive measures introduced earlier in connection with the coronavirus epidemic until April 30.

After the announcement of the self-isolation regime, a small café in Nalchik switched to another operation format – selling takeaway food, but there are almost no orders, Rosa Sultanova, the owner, has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to her story, in good times, up to 20-30 people per day used to visit her café.

"On [April 27], for example, there were only two orders. People can't come because of self-isolation. We are on the losing side," Ms Sultanova has complained, adding that she had to lay off almost all her employees.

Because of the quarantine restrictions, a second-hand clothing store has been closed for a month already, Lilya Ogurlueva, its owner, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"As of today, after idling for almost a month, my head hurts from problems: how to pay the rental fees; where could I borrow funds to repay the loan. So far, the state hasn't helped me," said Ms Ogurlueva.
