NKR doctors urge authorities to introduce state of emergency because of coronavirus

More than 50 medics have signed a petition calling to announce the state of emergency in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) due to the worsening situation with coronavirus. Mary Grigoryan, the author of the petition, believes that the regional authorities underestimate the danger.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that as of April 10, the number of coronavirus infected patients in the NKR reached five.

Due to the threat of coronavirus spread, the NKR authorities have introduced the self-isolation regime.

Mary Grigoryan, a surgeon of the Children's Medical Centre, has called on doctors of NKR medics on the Facebook to support her petition on the introduction of the state of emergency in the NKR.

"Now, the situation is much more dangerous. People are careless about what is happening; many go outside without protective means; others don't understand that they endanger themselves and their encirclement," she said.
