In Moscow, Chechen native hospitalized after clash with law enforcers

In Moscow, policemen wounded Zelimkhan Yusupov, a native of Chechnya, who was armed with a knife. The man has been hospitalized. He is suspected of trying to attack the policemen.

Zelimkhan Yusupov, a 27-year-old native of Chechnya, attracted the attention of residents of a house in Butlerov Street in Moscow. He was armed with a knife and behaved "inappropriately."

The policemen who arrived at the place demanded from the man to lay down his knife, but the man attacked one of the policemen with shouts of "Allahu Akbar." The policeman opened fire, bullets hit the man to his neck and leg, and the wounded suspect was hospitalized, the journal "Dosh" reports on its website today.

The incident occurred on March 2, the press service of the Chief Investigating Department for Moscow of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reported. "The man inflicted bodily harm to himself with his knife. After that, he made an attempt to attack the policemen, and they used service weapons to prevent his attack. At present, the man stays in a medical facility," the press service of the ICRF's Chief Investigating Department for Moscow reports.

The press release was posted on March 3, and no details about the suspect were disclosed.
