KGB of South Ossetia: Georgia's special agencies prepared coup d'etat and Kokoity's murder

The Committee for State Security ("KGB") of South Ossetia has informed about disclosure of the plot devised by special agencies of Georgia on physical destruction of Eduard Kokoity, president of the Republic, the "Interfax" reports.

"Leadership of Georgia and its special agencies are behind the planned coup d'etat," the agency's interlocutor noted. According to the representative of South Ossetian KGB, the operation was headed by Amiran Meskheli, deputy head of the Counterespionage Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia.

"On Saturday, Alan Parastaev, former South Ossetia MIA head and Supreme Court Chairman, surrendered to the KGB of the Republic the has pled guilty. It follows from his acknowledgement of guilt that Mr. Meskheli has allocated 220,000 US dollars on organization of E. Kokoity's liquidation," the official of South Ossetian KGB stated.

The MIA of Georgia has refuted this information.
