Relatives of Ingush activist Rashid Aushev report deterioration of his health in SIZO

At trial, Ingush activist Rashid Aushev stated that he was not guilty of attacking law enforcers in Magas. Rashid Aushev is not allowed to be visited by his relatives and friends, and his decease has aggravated at a SIZO (pre-trial prison), his relatives claimed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Rashid Aushev was detained on April 24, 2019. There are no grounds for the Rashid Aushev's arrest, and his detention in custody contradicts the judicial practice in cases on moderate crimes, the defence emphasizes.

Rashid Aushev is still being kept in custody: on February 4, the court pronounced a decision to leave him in custody until March 20, advocate Ramzan Uzuev reported.

Rashid Aushev was initially kept at the SIZO in Nalchik, and then he was transferred to a SIZO in Pyatigorsk. During the activist's detention, his kidney disease has aggravated, and he has caught a cough in addition, reports Zalina Ausheva, a sister of the defendant.

Rashid Aushev is 41 years old, and he has a wife and three minor children, says Yakha Ausheva, a mother of the activist.

According to Zalina Ausheva, her brother came to a rally by chance.

Public prosecutor suggests that at a rally in Magas, Rashid Aushev threw a chair at one of the fighters of the National Guard of Russia, hit him to a shield, and caused pain. The second chair thrown by the activist hit another fighter of the National Guard of Russia to a head. Meanwhile, Rashid Aushev "experienced political hostility towards the leader of the republic."
