Lawyers treat "honour killing" in Ingushetia as possible leakage result of operative filming

The publication on the Internet of a video showing detention of a blackmailer in Ingushetia can be regarded as negligence, which entailed grave consequences in the form of the murder of the woman who was occasionally filmed, lawyers believe. Residents of Chechnya, while condemning "honour killings", have sympathized with the alleged killer.

After an attempt of detaining Isa Altemirov, a suspected member of a group of blackmailers, a video filmed by operative agents appeared on the Internet. On the following day, the woman who got into the video was. According to law enforcers, her brother confessed to the murder, stating that her sister had dishonoured the family. It was the leakage of the video that provoked the murder, social network users have suggested.

The leakage of operative footage is at least law enforcers'' negligence, Dmitry Dovgy, a lawyer, is sure. In his opinion, law enforcers should be responsible not for the murder itself, but for the leakage of the video.

Mr Dovgy has noted that only a limited circle of persons has access to materials of operative filming.

Isa Altemirov died during his detention on February 7 by falling from a window. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), a 36-year-old resident of Ekazhevo, a 23-year-old woman from a neighbouring republic and a 33-year-old woman from Magas were at the moment in the apartment. According to law enforcers, Altemirov was a member of a criminal grouping, which seduced married women, made erotic videos with them, and then threatened to publicize the videos and extorted money from the women.

Nothing can justify a murder, the residents of Chechnya interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent and commentators on the public "Chechnya Online" on the Instagram believe, most of whom have still sympathized with the man who confessed to killing his sister.
