Social network users ridicule law enforcers’ reaction to Kadyrov’s threats
Policemen have found no signs of an offense in Ramzan Kadyrov’s public appeals to crack down on authors of gossips about Chechnya, a Nizhny Novgorod journalist said. Facebook users have noted that they had expected no different response from law enforcers.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 4, 2019, Ramzan Kadyrov demanded, at a meeting with the Chechen government, to "kill, imprison and intimidate" authors of negative materials about the republic and those social network users, who comment on these materials. Later, he tried to explain that his threats to beat and kill should not be taken literally.
In November 2019, Irina Murakhtaeva, the editor-in-chief of the edition named “KozaPress”, asked the General Prosecutor’s Office (GPO) to check Kadyrov’s words, the journalist herself reported on her Facebook.
“Kadyrov is a Chechen watchman. He is untouchable. He can do and say whatever he wants,” Alexander Timin shared his opinion in comments.
