Dagestan couple accused of provocation against Chechen culture
The Chechen Minister of Culture and Ramzan Kadyrov’s assistant have joined in condemning the spouses from Dagestan, who used Chechen music and a car in their wedding video. The minister called the video provocative.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in September and October 2019, participants in at least five wedding parties apologized to Chechen authorities for violating the national wedding traditions.
Subscribers of Chechen publics on the Instagram have criticized the newlyweds from Dagestan. In the video, a young man and a girl are walking along the shore, holding hands, and hugging each other. The video also shows a car with the number plate of the 95th region (Chechnya). The video is accompanied by the music, which users have identified as Chechen music. Commentators condemned the couple for publicly demonstrating their feelings.
Some users have noted that the couple was not from Chechnya; but the record, in their opinion, was a “provocation”.
Khozh-Baudi Daaev, the Minister of Culture of Chechnya, has also treated the video as “provocative.”
