Soldier seriously wounded in Karabakh conflict zone
Armenian contract soldier Arthur Mezhlumyan was wounded at a combat post and was hospitalized in sever condition.
The incident occurred in the near-border Tavush District of Armenia on January 15. According to the preliminary information, the soldier got a shell fragment wound from an enemy sniper shot, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed in the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD).
Today, Arthur Mezhlumyan has been transferred to the Central Clinical Military Hospital. Doctors assess his health condition as sever, an official from the Armenian MoD reports.
As at 7:10 p.m. Moscow time on January 16, the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan has not yet posted on its official website any comments on the Armenian MoD's statement about the wound of Arthur Mezhlumyan.
Earlier, the Armenian MoD has reported that on January 11, another soldier Arthur Arzumanyan was wounded in the same Tavush District. According to the Armenian MoD, the soldier was also shot and wounded by an Azerbaijani sniper.
