Ingush activist sentenced to colony settlement
The court has sentenced Mustafa Vyshegurov, an activist, to a year and five months in settlement colony after finding him as a participant of clashes with law enforcers during a rally in Magas. Vyshegurov has pled guilty, but noted that the court disregarded his repentance.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 12, 2019, the court extended the arrest of Mustafa Vyshegurov, a 40-year-old farmer, a native of the village of Gamurzievo, until December 25. On December 19, Vyshegurov went on a hunger strike in protest against the custody conditions at the SIZO (pre-trial prison), and the demand to shave his beard. The court extended his arrest until March 11, 2020.
According to investigators, on March 27, 2019, Vyshegurov "threw a stone and hit the head of a 'Rosgvardia' (Russian National Guard) fighter, causing him pain, but without any serious traumas."
The convict himself has stated that the court disregarded his repentance and the assertion that "he felt no political hostility and was not influenced by the organizers of the unauthorized rally in Magas."
