HRC "Memorial": those in power are responsible for rampancy of nationalism in Russia

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" informed repeatedly that on November 4 in a number of cities of Russia, nationalistically-inclined parties and organizations would hold the so-called "Russian Marches."

"A year ago, we all saw the manifestations of this sort of "March" in Moscow - slogans kindling inter-ethnic enmity, hands raised in fascist greetings, appeals announced from the rostrum to ethnic-motivated discrimination...

Unfortunately, earlier, the authorities of all levels obviously would not have noticed the growing threat of fascism; moreover, they often indulged the growth of pro-fascist aspirations in the society...

Today, Russia faces an extremely worrying and abnormal situation. On the one hand, we see a real threat of pogroms and fascist actions in the streets of our cities. On the other hand, local authorities started to combat this serious threat with obviously unlawful methods, contrary to the Russian legislation, therefore placing the fight against fascism into an ambiguous position. A new step is being made towards erosion of the Russian lawful state," the message of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" runs. Also, the HRC "Memorial" states that an essential legal responsibility for what happens in on the bodies of the prosecutor's office.
